The leap from "like" to "love" is one of the most significant that a couple can make. Unfortunately, it is also a procedure that is frequently misunderstood.
Many couples confuse love with lust, associating love with the ooey-gooey exhilaration and breathless anticipation that normally happens at the start of a relationship.
This definition of love categorizes it purely as a sensation, and feelings come and go. If you don't want your love to fluctuate with your emotions, you shouldn't define it solely as something you feel
However, our culture does not provide us with many additional options for forming the definition of true love. What else could it be if it's not just a feeling?
Fortunately, you do not have to abandon the concept of love as a sensation entirely. This is an important viewpoint, but it should be viewed from multiple aspects.
1. Establish trust. After all, you don't want to commit to someone who isn't deserving of your time.2. Get to know your companion.
2. Get to know your partner. And let them get to know you. It will be easier to commit to someone who knows your quirks and loves you anyway.
3. Establish a deep friendship. This friendship will help you stick to your commitment even when you don't want to.
