Ezekiel Elliott Earns Belichick Brownie Points on QB Remark

Even though Ezekiel Elliott has only been with the Patriots since the middle of August, he may already be an expert when it comes to dealing with the media in New England.

Though not particularly interesting to watch, the Patriots are nonetheless someone to keep an eye on coming into Week 12.

Since Mac Jones was benched in Germany, there has been mystery around New England's quarterback situation. Bill Belichick hasn't provided any information on this.

On Wednesday, local reporters looked to Elliott for any information regarding the Patriots' under center for this Sunday's game at MetLife Stadium.

However, the seasoned running back declined the offer completely. According to a video released by NBC Sports Boston, Elliott informed the journalists, "I think you know the rules around here."

Although Belichick hasn't formally announced the starting quarterback for the New York Giants game, all the indicators go to Jones retaining his position.

The Patriots' 2021 first-round selection, who saw his first practice reps earlier this week, said on Wednesday that he believes New England would stick with its usual starting quarterback depth chart this weekend.

Nevertheless, it is unlikely to matter who is selected to start for the Patriots in the Meadowlands. Neither Bailey Zappe nor Jones, and perhaps even less so Will Grier and Malik Cunningham, give New England a strong opportunity to win.
