Memphis Grizzlies Announce New Ja Morant Injury Update

Ja Morant's poignant first message after season-ending surgery.

Morant's season was cut short after nine games due to surgery, but he is anticipated to be fully recovered before the start of the 2024-25 NBA season, the team announced on Thursday.

Following the claims, NFL Network removed former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin from its Super Bowl broadcast.

The league banned him for an extended period of time after he flashed a firearm during an Instagram Live video, his second such incident with a weapon in the previous year.

Morant was booed during his first game back, when the Grizzlies played the Pelicans at Smoothie King Center in New Orleans on December 26.

He scored a season-high 34 points and nailed a buzzer-beating shot to win the game.

Morant averaged 25.1 points, 8.1 assists, and 5.6 rebounds over nine games, shooting 47.1 percent from the field.

Morant was greeted like a hero when he made his Memphis debut at FedExForum a few nights later, in his first home game of the season.
