NBA Storylines: 5 improvements for Grizzlies with Ja Morant back

The Memphis Grizzlies won their first four games with Ja Morant, the highlight of which was his game-winning shot in New Orleans in his season debut.

They've since lost four of five, with the sole win coming by a single digit over the Spurs. Morant missed the first of those games (a 37-point loss at Denver), but has played in the last three losses.

As 2024 begins, here are five crucial areas for Morant and the Grizzlies to improve:

A 5-3 record with Morant is undoubtedly preferable to a 6-20 record without him. If the Grizzlies keep this up, they'll win 30 of their last 48 games and finish 41-41,

putting them in the bottom half of the Western Conference's Play-In group.

They could absolutely be better, and the offense has a lot of opportunity for growth.

Morant, of course, is a thug. His 22.1 drives per game rank second only to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of OKC.

Shooting is the finest technique to compliment an attacker, and Gilgeous-Alexander's squad leads the league in 3-point percentage (39.7%).
