The 21-year-old LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne is having a great start to the 2024 NCAA Gymnastics Championship.
Dunne expressed her delight on Instagram following the Tigers' season-opening victory over Ohio State, which ended with a score of 196.975-196.775.
Dunne captioned a selfie she took from what looked to be the Tigers' locker room, saying she loved "meet szn," which is the NCAA Gymnastics Championship meet season.
Dunne scored a brilliant 9.875 on her season floor debut.
The No. 3 Tigers defeated the No. 14 Buckeyes despite fierce opposition, and Dunne's performance was essential to their success.
Jay Clark, the gymnastics coach at LSU, commended the team's effort, praising their tenacity and attitude of perseverance.
As a final-year senior, Dunne had been looking forward to LSU's season opening with great anticipation.
She posted action photos to Instagram last week along with the caption, "There is business to be stood on," and the hashtag, "meet week Monday."
