Shedeur Sanders makes clear why he’s returning to Colorado, not going to NFL

Colorado has retained its quarterback for the 2024 season.

Deion Sanders' son, Shedeur, who shone as quarterback for the Buffaloes last season, is returning to the school for his senior year, and he explained why.

He wrote on X on Friday night that Colorado has "the pieces" for 2024, following a 4-8 season in his father's first year as head coach.

"You all know I'm not declaring this year. We have the pieces we need to make it big this year," he stated.

Last season, Sanders put up some outstanding numbers both under center and from the shotgun position.

Sanders completed 69.3 percent of his throws in his debut season at Colorado, totaling 3,230 yards, 27 touchdowns, and three interceptions for a 151.7 rating.

The Buffaloes started Coach Prime's first Power 5 season with three straight victories, including a win over 2022 national title runner-up TCU.

Colorado also defeated Nebraska and its nemesis, Colorado State.
