Which football teams play on Christmas Day in the NFL?

The NBA has long dominated television on Christmas Day, but in recent years, the NFL has made an effort to take advantage of the holiday.

For the first time, the league scheduled a tripleheader on Christmas in 2022; however, due to a few bad breaks with the participating teams, only one of the three games had any real playoff implications.

With a more aggressive schedule for this year's Christmas triple-header, the NFL seems to have learned its lesson and is using some of its biggest name teams to make an impression on the holiday.

The end product is a triple-header that could decide who will advance to the playoffs for five of the six teams playing and could be a contender for game of the year to end the week.

At Arrowhead Stadium, the NFL's tripleheader between the 6-8 Las Vegas Raiders and the 9-5 Kansas City Chiefs gets underway at 1:00 p.m. ET with the Raiders looking to maintain their postseason hopes.

This game will be televised by CBS, while Nickelodeon will show a kid-focused version. In Week 15, the Raiders maintained their hopes of making the playoffs by crushing the Los Angeles Chargers 63-21 in a game that saw Los Angeles clean house.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs handled business, defeating the New England Patriots 27-17 to end a two-game losing streak.

The fierce rivals will face off again this season for the second time after Kansas City triumphed 31-17 at Allegiant Stadium in Week 12.
