Former NFL running back Derrick Ward arrested on suspicion of multiple robberies

There are papers that were obtained indicate that former National Football League running back Derrick Ward is currently being held in detention in a Los Angeles jail after being booked on a felony charge on Monday.

NBC News was informed by the Los Angeles Police Department that Ward, 43, is suspected of robbing five different businesses, including gas stations. According to the authorities, there is no evidence to suggest that he used a firearm during any of the incidents. According to the records, Ward is currently being held on a bail of $250,000.

The documents do not provide any information regarding the reason why Ward was taken into custody, and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department did not respond to calls made to them right away.
Ward played in the National Football League for a total of eight years, the first five of which were spent with the New York Giants, from whom he was taken in the seventh round of the NFL draft in 2004. Despite the fact that he was on injured reserve at the time of the Super Bowl victory with the Giants in 2007, he did not participate in the game.
