The wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins, Tyreek Hill, made a joke about his former teammate Travis Kelce, saying that Kelce is “too famous” to respond to his texts.
“I sent Kelce a text message. Hill, who is 29 years old, was quoted as saying, “He still hasn’t texted me back,” on Thursday, January 11, in advance of the Wild Card game that will take place between the Miami Dolphins and the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday, January 13. There is a good chance that he is still obsessed with Taylor Swift. Hill joked that he has not gotten in touch with quarterback Patrick Mahomes “since they beat our asses,” which appears to be a reference to the fact that Kansas City defeated the Dolphins during their game in Germany on November 5.
Hill was referring to the fact that he has not been in communication with his other former teammates since leaving the Chiefs. Hill continued by saying, “Yeah, man, those guys are definitely too famous for me right now.” Despite the fact that Hill spent the first six seasons of his career playing for Kansas City, he has established himself as a prominent figure in Miami since he was traded there in 2022.
Since Kelce, who is 34 years old, is getting ready for the playoffs in the hopes of defending the Chiefs crown during Super Bowl LVIII, it is possible that he has fallen behind on his text messages. Furthermore, in an effort to get some much-needed rest before the rest of the season, the tight end did not participate in the game that took place on January 10 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Due to the decision, he was unable to surpass the record for the most consecutive seasons in which a tight end in the NFL was able to accumulate 1,000 yards. On the final day of the regular season, the athlete finished with 984 receiving yards, despite the fact that he was only 16 yards shy of achieving his eighth consecutive year of receiving yards.
“I was all for that to gear up for the playoffs,” Kelce said regarding his decision during an episode of his “New Heights” podcast. “If I could get some rest going in the next week, stay off the turf out there in L.A., and just avoid some hits, I was all for that,” Kelce said.
